Anime, a style of animation originating in Japan influenced by the drawing style of Japanese comic books, or manga, is known for its devoted fan base.

These fans were in full force at the Convention Center for the first day of Animé Los Angeles on Thursday, January 4 to enjoy the live shows, the fashion show, the industry panels – and of course, to participate in a little cosplay.

The Animé Los Angeles festivities will continue until Sunday, January 7.
