As expected, today's PlayStation State of Play featured our first look at the latest from acclaimed developer Hideo Kojima, in the form of an extremely creepy and cinematic preview of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Sam, played by Norman Reedus, is back in a trailer that doesn't make much sense if you didn't play the first game – and even if you did, the content of this preview doesn't might not make much sense. Rest assured, you will continue to run through incredibly impressive landscapes with your giant yellow backpack.
But it looks like you won't have to run around delivering things, because robots are able to do that in this world. The real surprise is when Sam is captured and comes across his brother, played by the omnipresent Troy Baker… who pulls out a guitar/gun and starts shredding to take on enemies? Of course. It'll be a while before we see what this all boils down to, because it won't happen until 2025.
At the end of the stream, Kojima announced that a brand new project was in the works, although it won't go into full production until afterward. Death Stranding 2 is complete.
