The Packers and Vikings went into this primetime NFC North showdown in control of their own destiny to make the playoffs. If either team could win their final two games of the season, they would claim one of the NFC Wild Card spots.
It had to start with a win in Minnesota on “Sunday Night Football,” and Green Bay made it look easy. The Packers routed the Vikings from the get-go, coming away with a commanding 33-10 win.
Jordan Love rose to the moment in the most important game of his young career to this point. He threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions while adding a rushing touchdown to his totals. Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed exploded for 89 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions, while veteran running back Aaron Jones dashed for 121 yards on the ground.
Minnesota’s quarterback change didn’t go to plan, as Jaren Hall was replaced by Nick Mullens at halftime after throwing for just 67 yards with two costly turnovers. The Vikings defense got pushed around all night, allowing 470 yards of total offense.

(All times Eastern)
Final: Packers 33, Vikings 10
11:20 p.m.: The Packers maintained possession the rest of the way and ran out the clock. Green Bay will leave Minnesota with a massive victory, giving itself a win-and-in situation in Week 18.
If the Packers can defeat the Bears at Lambeau Field next week, they will make the playoffs.
11:07 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS — Nick Mullens was doing a solid job of moving the ball, marching the Vikings 67 yards on 13 plays all the way down to Green Bay’s 10. Minnesota’s offense stalled from there, as Mullens threw three straight incomplete passes on second, third and fourth down to give the ball back to the Packers.

10:55 p.m.: FIELD GOAL — Anders Carlson chips in a 37-yarder to put this one to bed with 6:11 to play in the game.
10:50 p.m.: The Vikings defense hasn’t had an answer for the Packers’ offense all night and that trend continues on this drive. Green Bay is milking the clock, eating over seven minutes of game time over 12 plays to march into the red zone.
10:41 p.m.: Packers WR Jayden Reed, who has exploded with six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns tonight, has been ruled out for the rest of the game due to a chest injury. A tough blow for Green Bay.
Packers 30, Vikings 10
10:38 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! — Nick Mullens finds TE Johnny Mundt in the end zone for the Vikings’ first TD of the game! Could this be the spark Minnesota needs to get back into this one?

10:10 p.m.: Nick Mullens has come out slinging. He’s already completed the same number of passes on this drive as Jaren Hall did in the entire first half. Mullens connected with Justin Jefferson on a 21-yard pass to bring the Vikings into the red zone.
10:00 p.m.: The Vikings are making a quarterback change. Nick Mullens is in for Jaren Hall, who finished the night with an underwhelming 67 passing yards and one interception.
Halftime: Packers 23, Vikings 3
9:47 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN — The Packers continue to make the Vikings pay for their turnovers! Jordan Love hit Jayden Reed on a delayed slant just inside the 25-yard line and the speedy receiver did the rest. Reed burst his way toward the goal line, carrying several Vikings defenders into the end zone. Green Bay has opened this one up just before the half, but Anders Carlson missed the extra point.

9:34 p.m.: The Vikings’ offense can’t get out of its own way. After gaining 27 yards on the first three plays of the drive, Jaren Hall is sacked again to set up 3rd & 16 coming out of the two-minute warning.

9:17 p.m.: FIELD GOAL — Greg Joseph from 54… GOOD! Jaren Hall was sacked for a loss of 10 yards to set up a third-and-long that Minnesota couldn’t convert. The Vikings get on the board with 9:25 to play in the half.

9:06 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS — The Vikings defense holds on 4th & 1 in their own territory! After Jordan Love failed to convert a tush push on 3rd & 1, the Packers elected to go for it on fourth down. Love had WR Bo Melton wide open off of play action but simply missed his target. Minnesota takes over from its own 24.
End of first quarter: Packers 10, Vikings 0
