Packers vs. Vikings final score, results: Jordan Love surgical with four touchdowns to lead Green Bay over Minnesota

The Packers and Vikings went into this primetime NFC North showdown in control of their own destiny to make the playoffs. If either team could win their final two games of the season, they would claim one of the NFC Wild Card spots.

It had to start with a win in Minnesota on “Sunday Night Football,” and Green Bay made it look easy. The Packers routed the Vikings from the get-go, coming away with a commanding 33-10 win.

Jordan Love rose to the moment in the most important game of his young career to this point. He threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions while adding a rushing touchdown to his totals. Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed exploded for 89 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions, while veteran running back Aaron Jones dashed for 121 yards on the ground.

Minnesota’s quarterback change didn’t go to plan, as Jaren Hall was replaced by Nick Mullens at halftime after throwing for just 67 yards with two costly turnovers. The Vikings defense got pushed around all night, allowing 470 yards of total offense.

Packers vs. Vikings updates, results, highlights from ‘Sunday Night Football’

(All times Eastern)

Final: Packers 33, Vikings 10

11:20 p.m.:The Packers maintained possession the rest of the way and ran out the clock. Green Bay will leave Minnesota with a massive victory, giving itself a win-and-in situation in Week 18.

If the Packers can defeat the Bears at Lambeau Field next week, they will make the playoffs.

11:07 p.m.:TURNOVER ON DOWNS —Nick Mullens was doing a solid job of moving the ball, marching the Vikings 67 yards on 13 plays all the way down to Green Bay’s 10. Minnesota’s offense stalled from there, as Mullens threw three straight incomplete passes on second, third and fourth down to give the ball back to the Packers.

Packers 33, Vikings 10

10:55 p.m.: FIELD GOAL —Anders Carlson chips in a 37-yarder to put this one to bed with 6:11 to play in the game.

10:50 p.m.:The Vikings defense hasn’t had an answer for the Packers’ offense all night and that trend continues on this drive. Green Bay is milking the clock, eating over seven minutes of game time over 12 plays to march into the red zone.

10:41 p.m.:Packers WR Jayden Reed, who has exploded with six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns tonight, has been ruled out for the rest of the game due to a chest injury. A tough blow for Green Bay.

Packers 30, Vikings 10

10:38 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! —Nick Mullens finds TE Johnny Mundt in the end zone for the Vikings’ first TD of the game! Could this be the spark Minnesota needs to get back into this one?

10:35 p.m.: FUMBLE! —The Vikings finally catch a break as Packers punt returner Samori Toure muffs the punt under pressure from Minnesota’s special teams weapon NaJee Thompson, who recovers the fumble. Vikings ball on the Packers 7-yard line.

End of third quarter: Packers 30, Vikings 3

10:26 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN —Jordan Love finds rookie WR Bo Melton for his first-career TD! Love is locked in tonight, driving the Packers 91 yards in 13 plays to blow this one open. He has 228 yards and four total touchdowns while completing 19 of his 27 pass attempts. Magnificent.

10:20 p.m.:The Packers offense is moving the ball with ease. Aaron Jones rattled off a 26-yard carry to start the drive, then Jordan Love picked up 23 yards in the air with passes to Malik Heath and Tucker Kraft. Just like that, they’re into Minnesota territory.

10:15 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS —The Vikings got aggressive and went for it on 4th & 4 from Green Bay’s 9. Nick Mullens tried to find Justin Jefferson over the middle in the end zone but the pass was broken up. Packers take over from just outside their own goal line.

10:10 p.m.:Nick Mullens has come out slinging. He’s already completed the same number of passes on this drive as Jaren Hall did in the entire first half. Mullens connected with Justin Jefferson on a 21-yard pass to bring the Vikings into the red zone.

10:00 p.m.:The Vikings are making a quarterback change. Nick Mullens is in for Jaren Hall, who finished the night with an underwhelming 67 passing yards and one interception.

Halftime: Packers 23, Vikings 3

9:47 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN —The Packers continue to make the Vikings pay for their turnovers! Jordan Love hit Jayden Reed on a delayed slant just inside the 25-yard line and the speedy receiver did the rest. Reed burst his way toward the goal line, carrying several Vikings defenders into the end zone. Green Bay has opened this one up just before the half, but Anders Carlson missed the extra point.

9:44 p.m. FUMBLE —Packers LB Preston Smith gets a free path to Jaren Hall and forces a strip sack! The Packers recover the ball on Minnesota’s 37-yard line. A nightmare scenario for the rookie quarterback.

9:41 p.m.:Jordan Love took another shot down the field on 3rd & 1 but couldn’t link up with Jayden Reed. Vikings take over from their own 34 with 39 seconds to play in the half after the punt.

9:34 p.m.:The Vikings’ offense can’t get out of its own way. After gaining 27 yards on the first three plays of the drive, Jaren Hall is sacked again to set up 3rd & 16 coming out of the two-minute warning.

Packers 17, Vikings 3

9:26 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN —Jordan Love puts his body on the line and extends the ball across the plane for a two-yard rushing TD! Green Bay extends its lead with a commanding 10-play, 75-yard drive.

9:21 p.m.:Jordan Love is dicing up the Vikings defense. He connects with Jayden Reed for a 15-yard gain then finds Tucker Kraft on back-to-back plays for another 17 yards. Green Bay is knocking on the red zone door already.

Packers 10, Vikings 3

9:17 p.m.: FIELD GOAL —Greg Joseph from 54… GOOD! Jaren Hall was sacked for a loss of 10 yards to set up a third-and-long that Minnesota couldn’t convert. The Vikings get on the board with 9:25 to play in the half.

9:06 p.m.:TURNOVER ON DOWNS —The Vikings defense holds on 4th & 1 in their own territory! After Jordan Love failed to convert a tush push on 3rd & 1, the Packers elected to go for it on fourth down. Love had WR Bo Melton wide open off of play action but simply missed his target. Minnesota takes over from its own 24.

End of first quarter: Packers 10, Vikings 0

8:59 p.m.:Jordan Love is making things happen in the first quarter of this one. The Packers QB was under heavy duress and floated a pass to WR Bo Melton for a gain of 28 to bring Green Bay into Minnesota territory again. The Packers will continue their drive from the Vikings’ 33 at the start of the second quarter.

8:54 p.m.:The Vikings offense stalls out again. Ty Chandler picked up 19 yards on the ground on the five-play drive but Jaren Hall couldn’t find any open receivers on 3rd & 4, throwing the ball away. The Packers will take over from their own 26 with 2:28 to play in the quarter.

8:35 p.m.:The Packers are moving the ball with a purpose now. Jordan Love threw a seed to WR Bo Melton for a gain of 12, then Aaron Jones picked up 19 yards on the ground to bring Green Bay into the red zone.

8:33 p.m.:Romeo Doubs makes up for his drop on the last third down. Jordan Love went right back to his guy for a gain of four on 3rd & 3 to move the chains for the first time tonight.

8:28 p.m.:The Vikings go three-and-out to give the ball right back to the Packers. Jaren Hall scrambled for a gain of five and Ty Chandler added another three yards but Minnesota couldn’t convert on 3rd & 2. Green Bay will take over from its own 20 after a punt.

8:25 p.m.:The Packers go three-and-out to start the game. Jordan Love took a shot down the field on first down but no one was home. On 3rd & 7 he threw a dart that would’ve moved the chains but Romeo Doubs dropped the pass. Vikings take over from their own 23 after a punt.
