The Morning After: Tech to help stick to your New Year’s resolutions

Spread the love

New years resolutions are generally defined with the best intentions – I may have already failed at one of mine – but the right tools (and the right resolution, if I'm honest) can make achieving these goals easier.

Naturally, with all the wearables and smartwatches, half of our guide has a fitness theme, but smartwatches can help you form better habits and even remind you to meditate, which I have set up on my Apple Watch this week. .

We also have to-do list app recommendations, cable organization tips (which is a weak New Year's resolution), and help on how to cultivate a new reading habit in 2024.

What are your resolutions for the coming year? And what are you going to do (or buy) to achieve this?

LG shows off 4K projector with strange handle at CES 2024

The CineBeam Qube weighs just 3 pounds.

LG

LG's latest 4K projector looks a bit like, well, I'll say it: a TJ Maxx object d'art. I say this with love: I would love a projector that looked like this. I mean, it has a handle that looks like a crank! The styling betrays the high-tech interior. The CineBeam Qube can project 4K images measuring up to 120 inches, with an RGB laser light source, 450,000:1 contrast ratio and 154% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Take a look at this dreamy timelapse of Mars

From NASA's Curiosity rover.

TMA
NASA

NASA's robotic Mars explorers have been given some time off because a natural phenomenon would likely interfere with communications. Before the break, the Curiosity rover was parked – but its hazard avoidance cameras (Hazcams) continued to drift away. At the end of the period, Curiosity recorded the passage of a Martian day over 12 hours from its stationary position, as the sun moved from dawn to dusk.
