Roadhouse Cinemas is adding a family entertainment venue to its Tucson location.
The local theater has leased the former Bed Bath & Beyond building at the Crossroads Festival Shopping Center at Grant and Swan roads.
The theater currently shares a wall with the vacant 36,518-square-foot building, so the two venues will be connected, said Josh Snider, co-owner of Roadhouse Cinemas.
“We're going to add four or five living room-sized auditoriums in the new space, with about 10 seats,” he said. “You can go with your family, have a room to yourself and watch a movie.”
The new space will also have 14 bowling lanes, Topgolf Swing Suitesax throwing and a large arcade with over 120 games.

Crossroads Cinemas opened a location in Colorado Springs in 2020 with an entertainment component and it was very successful, Snider said.
“It’s a way to diversify a little because since COVID, the film industry is not booming,” he says. “People love it and we have a lot of fun using it. »
Snider plans to hire between 40 and 50 people for the entertainment side, which has not yet been identified.
Barring any major setbacks, he hopes the opening will be scheduled for the fall.
Crossroads Festival mall owner Larsen Baker was represented by his broker Isaac Figueroa in the lease.
The cinema has a third location in Scottsdale which opened in 2017 and is still interested in a second theater in Tucson.
“We’re looking at the west side, but are open to any opportunity,” Snider said.
He and his partners, Scott Cassell and Vincent Mast, opened Tucson's first movie theater with restaurant in 2014 at 4811 E. Grant Road, in the space formerly occupied by Grand Cinemas Crossroads 6.
In 2017, the theater was expanded from 23,000 to 33,000 square feet and added three auditoriums, an expanded kitchen and bakery.
