Price and tax updates for apps, in-app purchases, and subscriptions – Latest News

The App Store is designed to make it easier to sell your digital goods and services globally, with support for 44 currencies across 175 storefronts.

From time to time we may need to adjust prices or your earnings due to changes in tax regulations or exchange rates. These adjustments are made using publicly available exchange rate information from financial data providers to ensure that prices for in-app and in-app purchases remain consistent across all storefronts.

Price updates

February 13, app and in-app purchase prices* will be updated for Benin, Colombia, Tajikistan and Turkey storefronts. Additionally, these updates take into account the following tax changes:

  • Benin: introduction of a value added tax (VAT) at 18%
  • Tajikistan: reduction in VAT rate from 15% to 14%

Prices will be updated in the Benin, Colombia, Tajikistan, and Turkey storefronts if you have not selected one as the basis for your app or in-app purchases.*

Prices will not change on the Benin, Colombia, Tajikistan, or Turkey storefront if you have selected this storefront as the basis for your app or in-app purchases.* Prices on other storefronts will be updated to maintain equalization with the chosen base. price.

Prices will not change in any region if your in-app purchase is an auto-renewable subscription and will not change in storefronts where you manually manage prices instead of using automated equalized prices.

The Pricing and Availability section of My Apps has been updated in App Store Login to view these upcoming price changes. As always, you can change the prices of your apps, in-app purchases, and auto-renewable subscriptions at any time.

Tax updates

The proceeds from your app sales and in-app purchases will change to reflect the new tax rates and updated prices. Schedule B of the Paid Apps Agreement has been updated to reflect that Apple collects and remits applicable taxes to Benin.

January 30Your earnings from qualifying app sales and in-app purchases have changed in the following countries to reflect the introduction or change of VAT rates.

  • Benin: introduction of 18% VAT
  • Czechia: VAT rate decreased from 10% to 0% for certain e-books and audiobooks
  • Czechia: the VAT rate increased from 10% to 12% for certain newspapers and electronic magazines
  • Estonia: VAT rate increased from 20% to 22%
  • Ireland: VAT rate reduced from 9% to 0% for certain e-books and audiobooks
  • Luxembourg: VAT rate increased from 16% to 17%
  • Singapore: GST rate increases from 8% to 9%
  • Switzerland: the VAT rate increased from 2.5% to 2.6% for certain electronic newspapers, magazines, books and audiobooks
  • Switzerland: VAT rate increased from 7.7% to 8.1% for all other apps and in-app purchases
  • Tajikistan: VAT rate decreased from 15% to 14%
