Brazil has expanded its 5G coverage to 6.3%, with an increase

A new report from OpenSignal finds that coverage of connection of the fifth generation movementa popular 5G – increased by 6.3% in Brazil. But also, the average download speed in the country also increased by 4.4%.

The start of the period envisaged between November 1, 2023 and January 29, 2024, compared to the same time in our previous years. In the documentation you have a major concern regarding the use of 5G in the most remote areas, with Amapá and Acre selling the greatest coverage gains each year.

Some points of view from the report:

  • Amapá and Acre record an increase in 5G coverage of 5.5% per year
  • The largest increases in average 5G speed were recorded for the states of Piauí (21%) and Rio Grande do Norte (17.9%)
  • Maranhão has a major increase in download speed, with 30.5%
  • Santa Catarina, Rondônia, Espírito Santo and Rio Grande do Sul record download speed via 5G: the first was 18.2%, while other forums, all of them, can reach 5%

The conclusion of the report is that 5G extends its media coverage throughout the national territory exponentially. Meanwhile, upload and download speed – or indeed connection quality and stability – gives you a better way to do it.

De acordo com dados da National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), regulators have paved the way for the 5G structure to be installed in 3,678 municipalities – that is, in practical conditions, almost 85% of the national population can benefit from the benefits of the connection.

That said, it is not certain that these figures are powerful, they are not absolute. It turns out that 85% of the population is able to function, but some of that population isn't even in their shoes.

A Open signal stating that the federal government's next challenge is to expand digital connection to 5G, at the same time, work must be done to reduce the connection disparity between urban and rural regions – these are the latest, even if you have a strong digital presence on your country's telephony infrastructure.
