BTS and PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT's Hybe agency behind groups like SEVENTEEN, have launched a new boy band 'TWS'. The group today released their debut single 'Oh Mymy: 7s' with a special video titled 'TWS Prologue 'Oh Mymy: 7s'', ahead of their debut album Sparkling Blue which is due for release on January 22.
The six members of TWS (pronounced “Two-Us”) – Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon and Kyungmin – were revealed for the very first time in the video shared as part of the announcement. The new single is a resonance of the group’s confidence. TWS channels its gentle yet bubbling energy into refreshing melodies that define its own musical style dubbed “Boyhood Pop,” and the song continues to build towards the climax, energized by one sonic touch after another.
The video for the preview single begins with the boys excited to perform in front of Pledis Entertainment's Sung Soo-Han, HYBE's Bang Si-hyuk, and Bumzu. The name “TWS” is short for “TWENTY-FOUR-SEVEN WITH US,” highlighting the phrase “24/7” to symbolize members’ unwavering commitment to being with “you” 24 hours a day.
As the first boy group to debut with PLEDIS Entertainment in 9 years since record-breaking K-pop icon SEVENTEEN, enthusiasm for TWS continues to grow.
TWS' first mini album, 'Sparkling Blue', will be released on January 22 at 6 p.m. (KST), i.e. 2:30 p.m. IST.
