A Claro We are implementing an initiative to replace the paper crates used in the material distribution premises between the transport bridges and the company's integrated repair and sorting centers, in the company's reverse logistics, to reused ecoboxes.
According to the operator, as the new packaging can be reused in the long term, they are made of a sustainable plastic material and, in their composition, receive an additive to neutralize carbon emissions on the planet.
The part of the material mainly used for the production of ecoboxes is UBQTM. Developed from non-recycled organic lixo, bio-plastic thermoplastic substitutes or common plastic and, secondly, manufacturer inputs, each ton of UBQTM produced has avoided almost 12 tons of CO2e for the best environment.
An initiative meets the operator's strategy to reduce its CO2eq emissions. The signatory to the UN Global Compact – United Nations, said it was committed to providing initial ambient metastasis for projects that directly reduced its emissions, before promoting possible offsetting.
“Like the paper boxes previously used, I have a short useful life, between two and three travelers. And like ecoboxes, according to the manufacturer's estimates, should be used for 5 years. This represents a big development for our internal process and we must avoid an emission of 1,025 tonnes of CO2eq during the period,” says Hamilton Silva, Claro Infrastructure Director.
The company is already aware of some programs on this subject, sending the main ones of “Energia da Claro”, powered for energy efficiency and remote self-consumption of clean energy and coming from renovation sources, which have the aim to use a fundamental paper to manage the company at the forefront. The emissions reduction targets stipulated by Science Based Target (SBTi) are made by the American Mobile Group, with regard to the declaration of this part. Since the start of the program in 2017, I have avoided the emission of more than 500 million tonnes of CO2eq into the atmosphere.
