Kate Middleton continues to recover from planned abdominal surgery. but her health problem has shaken her confidence and left her “fragile”, says one expert.
The Princess of Wales, 42, is expected to return to public duties after Easter, but royal writer Jennie Bond says her progress could be hampered by her uncle Gary Goldsmith's appearance on Britain's 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
Goldsmith – who is the brother of Princess Carole Middleton's mother – made on-air comments about his royal niece, which could cause undue stress for the royal.
“Obviously, whatever happened to Catherine, she probably feels fragile – mentally too,” Bond said. The mirror.
“To suffer such a serious setback at the height of your life, it must shake your confidence and so it will be fragile at this stage of your recovery and to have this thrown at you. She must just be thinking, “Why, why, why did Uncle Gary have to do that?” I imagine she’s completely depressed about it,” the expert added.
Goldsmith addressed Kate's health battle on 'Celebrity Big Brother' earlier this week, following a fever global speculation about its whereabouts.
He said the princess was receiving the “best care in the world” following her two-week stay in a London hospital in January.
He added that “the whole family dropped off the wagons” to rally around the royal.
However, Bond believes that Goldsmith might be pretending to be closer to Kate than he actually is.
“I don't think it's a particularly close relationship and I don't think he's part of the 'inner circle' anymore – I think he's being pushed further and further outside that circle now,” she said.
Since her surgery, Middleton has reportedly been recovering at home in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
“Kensington Palace made the timeline for the Princess' recovery clear in January and we would only provide meaningful updates. This orientation is valid,” his office told the Post last weekadding that she “was fine”.
On Monday, the mother of three was spotted for the first time since her operation alongside mother Carole, 69, sitting in the passenger seat of a car.
