Lupita Nyong'o knows how to celebrate a birthday. THE Black Panther actress celebrated her 41st trip around the sun with a beach getaway in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, accompanied by none other than her shirtless rumored boyfriend, Joshua Jackson.
Nyong'o has been linked to Dawson Creek alumnus since last year, following the separation of the two actors at the right time. In October, news broke that Jackson and his wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, were divorcing after nearly four years of marriage (they share one child, Juno Rose Diana). Later that month, Nyong'o announced in a Enigmatic but long Instagram post that she and her sports commentator boyfriend, Selema Masekela, were also splitting. Nyong'o and Jackson were first spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles last year, and they have since embarked on a low-key affair. Erewhon short and the Joshua Tree Freehand Expeditions.
Now from the photos published Goodbye! On Monday, it seemed the duo was committed to taking on a whole new landscape: the eerily calm beaches of Mexico. Along the shore, the couple in swimsuits can be seen smiling, hugging, jogging, holding hands while walking, and holding hands while power walking. Oddly, the beach seems either entirely isolated or just extremely unpopular with the masses, given that the cast are the only souls in sight.
“They looked madly in love,” an eyewitness reportedly told E! News. “Like they just can’t get enough of each other.”
Look, if these two want to convince the world that they're dating, they might as well go for it on Instagram. It would be a little less embarrassing than paparazzi photos that look like they came from a first PR relationship. Like, we get it! You want to look like you're in love! At the same time, we want Nyong'o to be happy at all costs, so if this beach adventure isn't staged and Jackson actually organized “a big balloon display and a beautiful bouquet of flowers” in their sequel (according to E!)'s anonymous source, then have a good day of slow jogging for these two.
