Musician Michael Bolton started the new year on a somber note. On Friday, Bolton revealed he was suffering from serious health issues. In a note shared on his social media account, Boton said he was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent emergency surgery for it.
In the post shared on his Instagram account, the 70-year-old rocker said he was diagnosed with a brain tumor before the vacation.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the operation was a success,” the 70-year-old singer wrote on the post shared on his Instagram account. “I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”
Additionally, the singer shared that he will be taking a temporary break to focus on his health in the coming months.
“It’s always the hardest thing for me to disappoint my fans or postpone a concert, but I have no doubt that I am working hard to speed up my recovery and get back on stage soon,” Bolton wrote.
“Know that I keep your positive messages in my heart and I will give you more news as soon as possible,” he concluded.
In July, Michael Bolton released an album called Spark of Light, a compilation of 14 original songs he has co-written over the years. In his decades-spanning career, Bolton made his breakthrough with the song “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.” The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
His other hit songs are To Love Somebody, When a Man Loves a Woman, This Is the Time and others.
