On Monday night (March 4), Cody Rhodes helped tie up some outstanding details regarding its history. But following a joint promotion on Raw with his best friend in the world, it's Rhodes who might be able to be tied at FightMania.
Last Friday, The Rock cut a promo at Rhodes where, among other things, he accused The American Nightmare of reneging on an agreement the two had made regarding FightMania. But after watching what Rhodes called a stupid PowerPoint glorifying the Anoa'i family, he decided to go back on his word – as a hero and honorable person apparently does – and take his place against Roman Reigns at FightMania in a match for Reigns' Undisputed Universal Championship.
Rhodes was finally joined Raw by world champion Seth Rollins, who reminded everyone how close Roman Reigns is to having total control of WWE with a victory at FightMania. Interestingly enough, when Rollins talked about Reigns, he did the same thing. L shaped hand sign fans noticed The Rock's creation after joining the Bloodline. Speaking of The Great One, Rollins challenged Rock, his boss, to make good on his threat to cost Rollins his title for his involvement in Bloodline affairs.
Rollins then declared that he would be Smack down this Friday to face the Bloodline, but he wanted to know if he would be alone or if Rhodes would join him.
“I supported you in this fight,” Rollins said. “So, what I want to know from you, do you have mine?”
After a word of salad from Rhodes, he agreed to go to Smack down with his BFF to face The Rock and Roman Reigns this Friday to officially respond to their WrestleMania challenge.
And so, Seth Rollins has officially hitched his wagon to Cody Rhodes for FightMania. But what if The Rock kept his word to strip Rollins of his title, perhaps during Rollins' defense against Drew McIntyre at FightMania? How likely is it that Rollins will continue to support Rhodes if the Nightmare fails to support him when Rollins needs him most?
During their promotion on RawRollins said it's not just Cody's story that ends at FightMania, but his too. But does Rollins, a famous traitorcontent to see Rhodes finish his saga if that means Rollins' story remains incomplete?
The plot thickens, as they say.
