The best of both worlds: Airbus presents a new helicopter model in France

Airbus today presents its first helicopter-airplane model in the town of Marselha, France. Second one Reuters, the plane is a Racer and combines the main advantages of helicopters with planes. The original was made in April, but the official presentation of the model was made today with packages from Airbus.

The plane is composed of a structure that leaves a helicopter with propellers in the upper area and the tail, but also on the sides and in the undercarriage, inspired by airplanes. This allows the Racer to lift off and stop on a long track, while still reaching high speeds when it's not there.

The project involves 40 Airbus parcels from 13 European countries with the European Union's Clean Sky 2 project, which incentivizes the creation of air transport vehicles with carbon emissions to keep European industry competitive global scale.

Airbuds allow you to optimize your aerodynamics with reduced weight and greater safety on the part of the aircraft, while the aircraft is controlled by 8 mechanisms at the front and rear.

The propeller is not able to be tilted to reduce consumption and increase stability, but the main differences between independent motors, but one of them can be unloaded during efforts to further reduce the combustion consumption and gas emissions.

According to Julien Guitton, project manager, the Racer emits 20% less CO₂ than traditional aircraft with less weight, an essential condition for approval of the Clean Sky 2 project.

Airbuds Racer is now not available for purchase or will be used in large areas, but it will need more stages of testing and certification before purchasing it in the market. This idea is used for ferido transport operations, emergency patients and carrying out repairs in hard-to-reach places.
