Travis Kelce Details His Australia Zoo Date With Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce shares behind-the-scenes details of his 'incredible' meet Taylor Swift at Sydney Zoo.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end called the Grammy winner “the best thing possible” as he gushed about their day meeting and feeding “exotic animals” including red pandas, koalas and dingoes last month.

“The kangaroos were pretty nice. I got to see a red panda up close and personal,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce, in Wednesday's episode of their podcast “New Heights”.

Travis, 34, particularly enjoyed his experience with the “sweet” red pandas, which he compared to a “friendly raccoon”.

“One of my favorite things is the zookeeper, the one who shows us the red panda. We had to go into a cage just to go in and see the panda in the panda area, and they're like, 'All right . , make sure that door is closed, and when you get out of here quickly, close this one because they're escape artists,' and I was like, 'This thing has earned me so much brownie points, man!'” he recalls.

Although he loved many animals, the NFL star admitted there were some he was grateful for that didn't live in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I saw a crocodile, which is much bigger than an alligator,” he said, before adding, “Thank God they’re not very common in the United States.

Travis and Swift, also 34, also had the chance to see two African elephants, a tiger “sitting in front of a treehouse” and a lion “up close.”

“You see three of them come down off their rock knowing they're about to be fed, (and when) you see how fast and nimble this thing is, man, it's over,” he said. -he adds. “You can tell one of them was the biggest and baddest. Like, damn, that's a bad man right there. Yeah, it was fun. It was fun.

The athlete also shared that he had a soft spot for some of the other animals they saw.

“(We fed) eucalyptus leaves to the koalas,” he recalls. “They weren’t doing anything. They were just paralyzed. That's what koalas do. They relax.

The couple also got to “pet a rhino,” and Travis admitted it was “terrifying to even be in the same enclosure” as the 2,000-pound animal.

“That thing had just finished rolling in the mud. For example, stroking him was like putting my hand on a plastered wall. This thing was solid as a rock, and it jumped everywhere and everything. It was really fun,” he shared.

Travis described rhinos as both “majestic” and “agile.”
