WWE congratulated Sting on his retirement from Raw

Sting completed his retirement tour last Sunday night in AEW Revolutiongoing up by defeating the Young Bucks for remain tag team champion alongside Darby Allin. It was a hell of a match to play, considering his age. He's a certified industry legend, and they did well by him.

No WWE/WCW footage was used, which was somewhat upset. But Dave Meltzer at Wrestling observer said it was because AEW didn't even bother to ask, and WWE wasn't willing to play ball.

To that end, they actually mentioned Sting's retirement on Monday Night Raw this week:

Michael Cole: “Before we begin, I would like to extend our congratulations to another great champion. After almost 40 years, the great Sting retired from professional wrestling. Thanks for the memories. Congratulations to Sting.

Pat McAfee: “Absolutely epic match last night.”

Some have pointed out that Cole was quick to jump in after McAfee said that, but I'm not sure there's anything to that. Either way, kudos to WWE for publicly recognizing one of the greatest of all time.

Anyway, here are all the videos from Raw this week:
