Congratulations are in order — Lala Kent expecting her second child!
THE Vanderpump Rules the star took to Instagram on Sunday to share the news that she is pregnant after previously revealing that she was follow IUI treatments to conceive.
“I'm expanding my pod,” Lala captioned a black and white photo showing off her budding baby bump and her radiant 2-year-old daughter, Ocean.
Lala added in her caption: “Congratulations to a new addition to my little family.”
Lala first revealed in January that she working to have a second child via IUI during an interview with Cosmopolitan.
“When my life took a very different direction, I knew I wanted more children,” she told the publication. “It was such a strange thing to happen because everyone was telling me, 'You're going to find someone.' And I started asking myself, “Why do I want to have more children involving another person?”
Reflecting on her journey, Lala said she hopes to destigmatize IUI, or intrauterine insemination, a process in which sperm are placed directly into the uterus.
“I wouldn’t bet on having my child,” she said. “I just don't think finding a partner and falling in love with someone has anything to do with bringing a child into the world.”
Lala welcomed her daughter, Ocean, with her ex, Randall Emmet, in March 2021. Nine months later, they called off their three-year engagement. The relationship imploded shortly after an alleged physical fight, and Lala claimed Emmett cheated on her multiple times. They later clashed in a contentious custody battle.
On the season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rulesbroadcast on January 30, the reality star discussed how she and her ex work to split time with and responsibility for their little daughter.
“My ultimate custody goal is just to look out for Ocean's well-being. Her biggest issue is, 'I don't want to give her the full legality because that would mean she could take Ocean into custody.' Vanderpump Rules, but I'll give him the last word on education and health,'” Lala said in a confessional. “I'm like, 'Well, that's all I fucking want!' I don't care to put it on Vanderpump Rules.'”
In a conversation with her mother, Lala opened up about the “trauma” she experienced before admitting it in a confessional, saying: “I cry all the time. And I know this time is going to end, but so that I may heal and be gentle.” and being a good role model for my child, I have to work through the emotions, otherwise everyone around me is screwed.”
