Abuse while I was pregnant was cruel, Meghan tells panel as Harry watches

The Duchess of Sussex has slammed women who “utterly spew hate” towards other women online, calling on female tech executives to do more to block this, with encouragement from Prince Harry.

The Duchess, speaking at an event about women in media in Austin, Texas, said she couldn't 'understand' how people could have been 'so hateful' towards her on media social.

“It’s not mean, it’s cruel,” she said of comments written online while she was pregnant. “Why would you do that?”

“What I frankly find most disturbing, especially as a supporter of women, is how completely women are taking this hatred out on other women,” she said. “I can’t understand this.”

She specifically criticized female executives at online platforms who host conspiracy theories, disturbing rhetoric and “highly inciting comments.”

“There are a lot of women at the highest levels of leadership who are great advocates for women and great philanthropists, and they work in these spaces, and yet they allow this kind of behavior to become widespread.

“And at some point, they have to put the practice behind things and actually make changes on a systemic level.”
