One of Canada's best-known comedians is coming home this winter — for one night only.

Saskatchewan's Brent Butt, originally from Tisdale, is scheduled to visit the Casino Regina Show Lounge on March 14 as part of a Western Canada tour that includes just one stop in his home province.

“I love what I do,” Butt said in a press release. “I think of it as just having coffee. Only now it's with hundreds of people at once.

The Gemini Award-winning comedian/actor is best known as the creator and star of the former Saskatchewan-based television series Corner Gas. Butt was named Canada's Best Male Comedian at the 2001 Canadian Comedy Awards and is the recipient of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions and achievements in the entertainment industry.

Butt's first novel, Huge, was a national bestseller in 2023.

Everclear will be at the Casino Regina Show Lounge on April 11.

The Grammy-nominated American rock band, led by original frontman Art Alexakis, has sold more than six million records since its debut in 1992.

Everclear is responsible for 11 studio releases, four of which were certified gold or platinum, as well as 12 top 40 singles. This includes popular hits like Santa Monica, Father of Mine, I Will Buy You A New Life, Wonderful and Everything To Everyone.

Alexakis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2019 and has since donated $1 from each ticket to charities including the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society.

The Regina Symphony Orchestra kicks off 2024 with a “Brahms Duett” as part of its free library concert series on January 14 (2 p.m., Central Library), January 17 (7 p.m., Sunrise Branch) and January 18 (19 h, Sunrise branch). Glen Elm Library).
