Charlize Theron is determined to teach her children to accept others.
The Oscar winner – who adopted her children Jackson and August – revealed she is keen to instill good values in her children.
Charlize, 48, told “RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked”: “I want (my children) to grow up in a world where they know what it means to accept what's not you, what's different and love that. , to not be afraid of it, and to accept it, and that is my job as a mom.
“I feel like we live in a time where our words can so easily be used as a weapon against us.
“I worry about us as people and what we can do to each other, and how powerful it is when we love and how powerful it is when we hate. One destroys and the other builds.”
Charlize previously revealed that her attitude towards life had been shaped by tragedy.
The famous actress realized that “you don't have forever” in life, after experiencing a tragedy during her younger years.
Charlize – whose mother shot her father in an act of self-defense – told The Hollywood Reporter: “One thing that that first tragedy gave me was the realization that you don't have a eternity. This is simply not the case.
“And it's easy to say, 'Oh, it's a movie' – but then it's another movie and another. And I don't want to sound like I'm wearing a message on my sleeve, but I think that for women, we fear that if we don't work harder and keep pushing, we'll never really get there. And that's exhausting.”
