Ryan Gosling can “make one hell of a pie”.
The 43-year-old actor – who has two daughters with partner Eva Mendes – thanks his mother for passing on her baking skills to him and insisted he doesn't make half-hearted attempts when baking a culinary delight .
Asked about his secret talent, he told W magazine: “I make a killer pie. I go with raspberries. My mother used to bake as a side hustle, and I was lucky enough to have the pie gene. I flute my crust too, so don't let anyone tell you I don't!”
Her “Barbie” co-star Margot Robbie joked that she was “hurt” that he didn't share his talent with her.
She joked: “I feel hurt that you never did one to me.”
Ryan's song from “Barbie,” “I'm Just Ken,” is expected to be nominated for an Oscar when the Oscar shortlist is announced next month, but he revealed he hasn't yet been invited to sing during the March ceremony. as is usual for tracks vying for the Best Original Song gong – but the possibility will now be constantly on his mind.
When asked if he would sing at the Oscars, he replied, “Well, I wasn't invited. And I didn't think about it until now, and now it's all that I'll think. Paid to sing at the Oscars? Do you have to drive yourself? What kind of scratch is that? At least they're picking you up, right?”
Ryan's partner Eva previously praised the “La La Land” star's “incredible” culinary skills.
She told People magazine: “Ryan is the cook. He's an incredible cook. I think there's a really good balance of 'you cook, I clean'. And it works for us.”
And she admitted on Instagram that her own cooking skills were limited.
She exclaimed, “Ryan is an amazing chef AND baker. For real. Amazing. No kidding.
“I’m not sure what I do is cook. Rather, it involves steaming vegetables, extracting juice from them and preparing rice. (Ryan) really cooks. I survive.”
