January 5, 2024 – Sheridan Media

Sheridan HS Basketball: The Sheridan High School boys and girls basketball teams were back on the court yesterday and picked up where they left off after a 2 week break.

Playing in Cheyenne, the Broncs defeated Green River 65-51, and the Lady Broncs also defeated GR 60-33.

Both teams are back in action this afternoon against Kelly Walsh and these matches will be played at Cheyenne East.

The girls' game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with the boys' game to follow.

You can listen to the games LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Tomorrow, Sheridan will play against Evanston starting at noon.

Big Horn and Tongue River basketball: Both Big Horn and Tongue River teams play twice today and twice tomorrow.

The Rams will play 2 games today at Lusk and 2 tomorrow at Lingle-Ft. Laramie, while the Eagles are the opposite.

The Lady Rams will play 2 today and 2 tomorrow at Sundance, while the Lady Eagles will play 2 today and 2 tomorrow at Wright.

Check back to the sports section of sheridanmedia.com for final scores as we get them.

Struggle: The Sheridan boys and the two Tongue River teams will compete today and tomorrow in Douglas, while the Sheridan girls will be in Bozeman, Montana.

Boys swimming: Sheridan will host a pre-invitational at 4 p.m. today and host the Sheridan Invitational tomorrow starting at 9 a.m.

Nordic Ski : The Sheridan High School Nordic ski teams will compete today and tomorrow on Casper Mountain.

University of Wyoming basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys resume Mountain West Conference play tomorrow at New Mexico.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. and you can hear this game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls also play Saturday at Air Force.

Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and this match can be heard on FOX Sports 106.3 FM.

Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos will conclude their season Sunday in Las Vegas against the Raiders.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2:25 p.m.

Even if the Broncos win, the team will never make the playoffs.

Indianapolis, Houston and Pittsburgh are in a three-way tie for the final AFC wild card spot, and Denver is 1 game away from all three.

The problem is that Houston and Indy play each other, which means the Broncos can't catch them both, and a tie between the Texans and Colts doesn't help either.

Denver's game against the Raiders will be a battle for 2nd and 3rd place in the AFC West, which will have an effect on next season's schedule.

Denver Nuggets Basketball: Last night, the Denver Nuggets trailed Golden State by 18 points midway through the 4th quarter and closed the game on a 25-4 run, including a 40-foot buzzer-beater from Nikola Jokic to win 130-127.

The Nuggets are back in action tonight at home against Orlando and again Sunday at home against Detroit.

Colorado Avalanches Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won their second straight game in overtime last night in Dallas 5-4.

This is their 4th straight win overall and their 6th win in the last 7 games.

The Avs' next game is tomorrow at home against Florida.

Sheridan Hawks junior hockey: The Sheridan Hawks are back in action tonight and tomorrow night in Cody.

Sheridan is currently 11-18 on the season and before the break they had gained some momentum, having won each of their previous 3 games and 7 of their last 9.

Head coach JJ Santagata says the season hasn't started well, but in the league they play in, that's sometimes to be expected.

The big picture is what's happening right now, and so far the Hawks have turned things around.

Sheridan's opponent, the Yellowstone Quake, is still looking for its first win of the season after 29 tries.

The Hawks will be back at home next weekend against Rapid City.
