Kelly Clarkson Helps Marry Couple On New Year’s Eve

Kelly Clarkson helped a gay couple's shared dream come true when she became an impromptu best man at their wedding, which took place in the middle of her Las Vegas residency concert.

Video sequences from Clarkson's New Year's Eve performance at Planet Hollywood's Bakkt Theater shows the three-time Grammy winner interrupting her performance to speak with two audience members, identified by Rolling Stone like Ryan and Marcelo.

“Our wedding is tonight, with you,” one of the men told Clarkson, who responded by handing his microphone to a celebrant who then performed the quick ceremony.

“Through the power of the Kelly Clarkson show…I pronounce you both husband and wife,” the officiant said as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.

After posing for photos with the newlyweds, a beaming Clarkson waved to a woman who appeared to be the mother of one of the bride and groom.

“What did your baby just do?” she joked. Moments later, she wished Marcelo and Ryan luck on their wedding, adding: “Guys, it was so wonderful.”

Clarkson's Vegas residency premiered in July, shortly after the release of his latest album, “Chemistry.” Although the original 10-show run ended in August, it later announced an extension of four dates this should end next month.

“Chemistry,” released in June, is Clarkson’s 10th studio album. The 14 new songs were reportedly inspired by the American Idol veteran. controversial 2022 divide from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

“I hadn’t really worked hard on an album until I needed one,” she told Variety in 2022. “But then this whole divorce thing happened and I needed to write it. And then I didn't know if I was going to release it, because you can be very angry in that state of mind. So, some songs definitely run the gamut of emotions; there's everything on the album. It's almost like the arc of a relationship, because the beginning is so beautiful and so sweet, and then it evolves. And sometimes, things don’t evolve the way we want them to.
