Panasonic's powerful full-frame mirrorless camera, the S5 II, is on sale at Amazon And B&H photo video at the lowest price we have ever seen. You can buy one with an 85mm f/1.8 prime lens for as little as $1,796, a savings of $800 compared to buying both separately, effectively giving you a discount on the camera and a free lens to boot.
Panasonic's S5 II mirrorless camera has dropped to an all-time low price with an 85mm lens.
As I wrote in my goodbye, the 24-megapixel S5 II was already great value at $2,000, mainly due to its strength as a vlogging camera. This is the company's first model with a phase-detection autofocus system that eliminates wobble and other problems of previous models.
Panasonic also introduced its new, more powerful stabilization system from the GH6. And it has the video features you expect from a Panasonic camera, like 10-bit log capture at up to 6K, monitoring tools, and advanced audio features. With its generous manual controls and excellent ergonomics, it's an easy-to-use camera. It also comes with a nice 3.68 million-dot EVF and a sharp rear display that fully hinges for vlogging.
For photos, it's reasonably fast and excellent in low light, thanks to the dual native ISO system. Other features include dual high-speed SD card slots and solid battery life, especially for video. The main downside is the visible roller shutter, but this shouldn't be a problem for most users, especially at this price.
