It’s game time as we have kickoff in a contest in which the AFC’s road to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas could be determined in Baltimore with the 11-4 Miami Dolphins facing the 12-3 Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens can clinch the conference’s top seed with a win, ensuring them home field advantage and a first-round bye. A Dolphins win would give them the driver’s seat for the top spot entering Week 18.
The last time the Ravens were the AFC’s one seed in 2019, quarterback Lamar Jackson was the NFL’s unanimous MVP. He is currently the league’s MVP frontrunner entering Sunday of Week 17 with -195 odds, according to Caesar’s Sportsbook. The Dolphins have been an enjoyable matchup for the native South Floridian as Jackson has 10 total touchdowns and only one turnover in three career games against his hometown team.
Sunday’s game will also mark a clash of contrasting top offenses. Baltimore is the league’s best rushing offense (159.7 rushing yards per game) while Miami is the NFL’s number one passing offense (275.1 passing yards per game). Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leads the league in completion percentage (70.5%) and passing yards (4,214), a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in the same season since Drew Brees did so in 2011.
Will the Ravens stake their claim atop the AFC’s regular season throne? Or can the Dolphins seize the crown entering Week 18? We’ll have all the real-time updates and analysis from this game, so stay tuned to the live blog below!
