Salem City Council to discuss future of musical entertainment for July 4th celebration

The Salem City Council will discuss Tuesday evening how Fourth of July celebrations will take place in Salem this summer.

The municipal council is asked to review the musical entertainment organized over the last two years at the Group Stage as part of the celebration. With July 4 being a Thursday this year, the council is being asked to decide whether that's the day they want to celebrate or instead on a weekend day. They are also asked if they want to keep the musical entertainment and if so, if they want to continue using the same provider.

The council will also be asked to enter into a professional services agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC for the city's summer oil and chip street improvement program.

The meeting begins at six Tuesday evening at Salem City Hall.
