Three University of Georgia Football Players Involved in Car Crash, Leaving One Dead

Three University of Georgia football players, Jalen Carter, Chandler Lecroy, and Devin Willock, were involved in a car crash on Monday evening that left one person dead. The accident occurred in the Athens-Clarke County area and involved a single car, which reportedly crashed into a tree.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the driver of the car, who has not been identified, was killed in the crash. Carter, Lecroy, and Willock were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The University of Georgia released a statement expressing condolences to the family of the deceased and offering support to the players and their families. The statement read, “We are aware of the accident involving three of our student-athletes and are working to gather more information. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy.”

Carter, Lecroy, and Willock are all members of the University of Georgia football team. Carter, a defensive lineman, was a highly touted recruit and played in all 13 games during his freshman season. Lecroy, a wide receiver, and Willock, an offensive lineman, both redshirted during their freshman seasons.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
