French conversation for adults will be held at the Aiken County Public Library from 2-3:30 p.m. on Friday. It's not for beginners. Aiken County Chapter of Jack & Jill America to Host Luminary Gala from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, January 20 at Crowne Plaza, 1060 Center St., North Augusta. Tickets are $125 per person. The dress is black tie. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Center for African American History, Art and Culture and the Jack & Jill America Foundation. Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) to hold virtual services Sunday January 21. The meetings are open to all and visitors are warmly welcomed. A community celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place Sunday, Jan. 21, at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the event starts at 3:00 p.m. Alex English, USC board member, retired coach, business executive and former NBA player, will be the keynote speaker. The event is presented by Aiken Technical College and USC Aiken. Free entry.
