Donkey Impostor Crashes Oscars, Claims to be Banshees of Inisherin Star Jenny

When Jimmy Kimmel brought out a four-legged cutie during Sunday night’s telecast of the 2023 Oscars, it appeared as though The Banshees of Inisherin breakout star had made a surprise appearance on the red carpet. However, EW has confirmed that the donkey at the show was not the same one used in the movie.

“Jenny” was introduced by Kimmel following a clip package touting the Best Picture nomination for the Martin McDonagh-helmed movie.

Jenny, one of the Banshees of Inisherin actors, is shown here. We informed the airline to get Jenny on the plane from Ireland that she was a trained emotional support donkey in addition to being an actor, Kimmel joked. “So, feel free to come up and give her a hug if you’re feeling angry, you didn’t win, you’re anxious, or maybe you just love mules,” she said.

He then introduced Jenny to his co-stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, introducing the latter as the man “whose finger you ate.”

In the 2022 movie, Jenny, Pádraic’s pet, chokes to death on one of Colm’s (Gleeson) amputated fingers after their bitter falling out, which is the main plot of the picture.
