Kelly Clarkson had a breakthrough after his divorce by Brandon Blackstock.
In a new interview with PeopleTHE Kelly Clarkson Show the host says she sees her music as a healthy outlet for her pain following her 2022 split.
Clarkson shares that she's not one to hold grudges, so she made sure all of her emotions were on display in her latest album, Chemistry.
“I can't express how grateful I am to have this kind of healthy outlet. Because the level of depression and the things that come with divorce or bereavement are extraordinarily difficult. You feel alone, and it's “It's just a blessing to be able to have this outlet for these emotions that are overwhelming,” she told the magazine.
The 41 year old man American idol an elder says music helped her reclaim her power.
“I was like, ‘I’m taking my power back,’” she notes. “It sounds very therapeutic, but that’s because I love therapy and I think it’s important to have these tools to navigate your life and relationships.”
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock – who was also her manager for a time – in 2020, after seven years of marriage. After numerous legal and legal setbacks, the couple's divorce was finalized in March 2022.
As part of the divorce agreement, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $1.3 million and pay $45,000 a month in child support for their two children, River Rose, 9, and Remington, 7 years. Additionally, Blackstock received $115,000 per month in spousal support, expected to end this month.
In November, the “Miss Independent” singer obtained another legal victory about Blackstock's alleged overcharging while he was his manager.
Legal documents obtained by ET reveal that Blackstock overstepped the bounds of her position by booking gigs and finalizing contracts for the star on platforms including The voiceNorwegian Cruise Line, Wayfair and as host of the Billboard Music Awards.
The commissioner's decision indicates that, with few exceptions, only agents are allowed to legally secure such roles for talent. As a result, Blackstock was ordered to remit commissions totaling more than $2.6 million to Clarkson.

“We walk in the park. We have more life. That was my goal, that we could actually engage outside of our house. And you have to do that in New York,” she said .
