Final Fantasy fans may want to set aside some time for Sony's upcoming State of Play. Before his last showcase finishedthe company announced that it will share new gameplay details and “exciting news (fans) won't want to miss” about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at his next event. He also promised an in-depth look at the upcoming sequel to FFVII RemakeWhich one is coming to the PS5 on February 29, 2024.
The action role-playing game will pick up where the first title in the planned trilogy left off, and players will still primarily control Cloud Strife, who joined the eco-terrorist group Avalanche in the events of the first game. Zack Fair , who was only present in a flashback scene in the first title, is expected to play a bigger role this time around. While new games are based on old ones Final Fantasy VIIthey feature reimagined elements, new concepts, and expansions (perhaps even changes) to the storyline and character development of the original title.
Sony gave fans a sneak peek of Renaissance through the trailers for a while now, but it looks like the showcase will give them a much better idea of what they can expect. The company's next State of Play event will take place on February 6 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
