This week's edition of the Official Xbox Podcast will likely attract a lot more eyes and ears than usual. That's because three top Xbox executives are about to expose what awaits the brand.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, Xbox President Sarah Bond and President of Gaming Content and Studios Matt Booty will “share updates on Xbox business”, following rumors that several major games could come to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Various reports have indicated that one-off exclusives such as Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Starfield And Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are intended for rival platforms. Even flagship franchises like Halo and Gears of War could be on their way to Sony and Nintendo platforms.

It is likely that Spencer, Bond and Booty will dispel these rumors or confirm the information published on the official Xbox podcast. It's clear that Microsoft's gaming division has seen a drastic change over the past few months after finally finalize its gigantic takeover from Activision Blizzard in October then lay off 1,900 people a few months later. Today we should have more clarity about the general direction of Microsoft Gaming.
It appears, however, that Microsoft is poised to become more of a cross-platform publisher. The company has already committed to bringing more of its games to Switch after strike a deal with Nintendo to publish Call of Duty titles on this company's systems.
That said, Microsoft is unlikely to stop making its own consoles anytime soon. Spencer told staff at a town hall earlier this month that Xbox had more hardware in the works, according to Reverse. Bond also reportedly presented a vision of making the Xbox available on “every screen” and showed the hit Game Pass title World Pal on various tablets, TV screens, monitors and portable devices.
